~ fa la la la la, la la la laaaa ~

{tonight by the fire}

It was freezing here today...we lit the fire, did some sewing, cranked up the carols and decorated the tree.
Much excitement.
Lots of "oohing" and "ahhhing" and "remember this...?"
Lots of decorations round the bottom and not much at the top.
Lots of enthusiasm and (regrettably) not so much style
Much love though.
And some new decorations that I made today - they turned out ok - wonky stitches and all.

  3. Sounds like lots of fun! Our tree is similar. 6 decorations on one branch and none on the next. All very haphazard and mixmatch of decos. But they love it! When you're a kid Christmas is such a magical time. It's sometimes hard to recreate that again as an adult, but sounds like you are doing a great job - fire and all! Gorgeous decorations btw.

  5. Your decorations are lovely! Not wonky at all! Your tree looks all blissfully dreamy and warm & happy. Love it. We haven't done any decorating yet, but we are definitely feeling the love. We have been listening to and singing along to carols and I've been playing with paper & ideas for Christmas cards. Such a lovely time. x

  6. I think they look terrific ... wonky bits and all ... in fact I reckon the wonky bits show the love better than straight bits anyhow :-)

  7. Ah, who needs style anyway when there is love! Cute decorations. As usual our tree is bottom-heavy with the decorations!

  8. Cute decorations. I need to add some handmade ones to our tree. They make it so much more personal. :)

  9. I love the sound of your night, sounds a little like ours except my 12 year old can now reach the top of the tree without any help. She'll be taller then me soon. I think your decorations are perfect, the kind memories are made of:) x
